Discipline Bye-Laws

General Rules

  • Students must report to school five minutes before the first bell is rung. The school gate will be closed after second bell. (prayer bell)
  • Students should be collected from the school within 15 minutes after the school hours. The school authorities will not take any responsibility of the students staying later than the given time.
  • Students who are injured, sick, suffering from a contagious infection or under medication will not be permitted to attend the school.
  • Any information related to the school activities should be communicated directly through the Principal and not through the class teacher or any other staff members.
  • Safety of student is our top most priority. Whenever most of the city areas are affected by natural calamities, riots, curfew or any other tension situation, it is advisable not to send the children to school. However it will be the sole responsibility of the parents to make conveyance arrangement for their children to and from the school.
  • Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence for more than a week, habitual disturbance, laziness, disobedience or immoral influence on fellow pupils justify dismissal from the school belonging.
  • Students should observe personal cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Parents, guardians or others are not allowed to see their child or ward or interview the teachers without first obtaining the written permission from the Principal. Parents are requested not to go to any class directly without first obtaining the necessary permission note from the Principal.
  • Any kind of damage done to the school property by student is to be made good by the student’s parents or guardians.
  • The school is not responsible for books, money, clothes or other articles lost. Students must look after their own belongings. They are advised not to have any valuable articles with them. They should not bring books, articles or materials other than those required in the school on each day.
  • Students should be polite wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them. Bullying and use of foul languages are punishable offences.
  • Student must bring his/her mid-day meal daily to school. It is requested to send a hanky with the tiffin box.
  • No books (other than text books, library books) magazine or papers may be brought to the school.
  • Students are strictly forbidden to bring mobile/cell phone to school.
  • Students should not bring crackers, explosives and other dangerous material to school. Disciplinary action will be taken against such offenders.
  • Students should take care to switch off lights and fans while leaving the room. Running and shouting inside the school building is not allowed.
  • Each class will be responsible for taking care of class property.
  • It is the moral duty of each student to help in maintaining cleanliness of the school premises.
  • Students must be regular in their home work and learning the daily lessons.
  • Parents are required to co-operate with the school in helping the children progress. They should check the bags of children for any circular, notice or invitation that may have been issued.
  • Any communication by the parents should be addressed to the Principal.
  • Parents are required to inform the school if there is any change in their address or telephone numbers.
  • For any specific medical problem, the parents must inform the school authority prior to the session.
  • Parents are expected to go through the calendar carefully and make a note of important dates and events, especially Parent-Teacher Meetings, Tests and Examination. We expect the parents to meet the teachers concerned to discuss not only the academic progress but also other areas of personality development like attitudes, aptitudes, confidence building etc. Tuition teachers are not allowed to attend PTMs.
  • Name of the child should be clearly marked on all the belongings.
  • Strangers are not allowed to meet students, Parents should not send anyone to pick their child from the school during working hours without written request and a telephonic message to the Principal, Vice-Principal in order to ensure safety of their children.
  • If any student have legitimate complaint, please meet the Principal / Vice Principal at the earliest and the complaint will be personally verified. Sexual advances by anyone either from our staff or students towards any ward should be reported to the Principal in writing without wasting any time.
  • Students on their birthday are not allowed to come to the School in civil dress. Distribution of Chocolates, Toffees, Gifts (even pencil, eraser, pen etc.) in any form either to staff or to the students are strictly prohibited.
  • We expect parents and guardians to be courteous and polite with the staff of the school even in the most taxing situations.
  • Parents attention is drawn to the fact that criticism of any teacher or school in the presence of a child should be avoided because it causes the students to lose respect for their teachers.
  • Students of this school are strictly forbidden to buy anything from the street hawkers. Students are expected to bring homemade vegetarian food in their tiffins. Non-Veg food is strictly not allowed in school premises.

Uniform

  • All students must come to school in proper uniform.
  • A copy of uniform details and uniform wearing schedule is provided separately.
  • Uniform should be clean, tidy and well ironed to ensure a smart and groomed turnout.
  • Boys should keep their hair short. Girls with short hair must wear a white cotton/nylon hair band. Girls with long hair must have neatly plaited or tied in single or two pony tails.
  • No chains or talisman threads are permissible. If for religious purposes, it should be worn inside the uniform and not visible. Mehandi and nail paint will not be allowed at all (Except functions & festivals).
  • Strict action will be taken against the students who often come without uniform or with dirty uniform.
  • Nails must be kept clean and trimmed.
  • Teeth must be brushed twice a day.
  • Hair must not be coloured, tinted or highlighted.
  • No makeup of any kind should be applied by the girls.

Transport Facility

  • Driving of vehicles to / from school by students is not allowed. Sole responsibility will be ofparents.
  • The student must reach 10 min. before the school vehicle arrives at the stop. Door to door facility will not be provided.
  • Please don’t stop the vehicle for any personal reasons, because it makes other students late to reach at school on time.
  • Fee must be deposited in time. Late fee will be taken if not deposited in time.
  • School is not responsible for any mishap or accident.
  • For the cancellation of this service, parents must inform (in written) to the school before 15 days, otherwise the charges will be added.
  • This facility is provided to the students only on behalf of parents request. It is not mandatory.
  • Safety of students is our top most priority. However it will be the sole responsibility of the parents to make conveyance arrangement for their children to and from the school.
  • The school bus facility available to the students can not be expected or demanded as a matter of right.
  • Students are not allowed to get on the bus without having school uniform.
  • Transport service is an optional service by the school for the convenience of its students.

Diary

  • Diary is one ofthe links between student and the school.
  • The diary should be brought to school everyday. Those who come to school without diary will be marked absent.
  • Occasional remarks from the teachers are conveniently conveyed through the pages and you are encouraged to act like wise.
  • Any comment regarding student’s works and conduct may be communicated through the relevant pages of student diary.
  • Make use of the absent note page in the diary whenever child is absent or requires leave.
  • Check the student’s diary regularly where remarks from the Principal/teachers are made and sign it as seen.

Fee​

  • Fee must be deposited before 10th of each installment month. Late fine will be taken as per school rule.
  • No deduction will be made for broken periods of absence.
  • All dues must be cleared before a student is admitted to the periodical exams, failing which he/she may not be allowed to appear for the exams.
  • Fee can be either paid in cash or by cheque. Cheques are to be drawn in favour of GURUKUL CENTRAL ACADEMY, Dungarpur
  • If any cheque is bounced or returned by the bank due to any reason, penalty will be charged.

WITHDRAWAL / T.C.

  • A calendar month’s notice is to be given by the parents or guardian in written. Failure to give the required notice will necessitate the payment of fee of on installment.
  • The school Leaving Certificate/T.C. will be issued at least two days after the date of submission of the written application to the Principal.
  • Leaving/Transfer Certificate will not be issued unless the outstanding dues are paid.
  • If student is present in class even for a day before the issue of T.C., a full payment of one installment has to be deposited.
  • School Leaving Certificate/T.C. will be issued after getting NOC from all departments of school.

DISMISSAL

  • Students shall be liable to dismissal from school on any of the following rounds :

    1. Inability to follow classes in English.
    2. Continuous lack of progress in study and those who are detained twice in the same class.
    3. Attendance is irregular.
    4. Continuous absence for more than seven days without written application.
    5. Conduct harmful to other students.
    6. Act of indiscipline and insubordination.
    7. Immoral acts of stealing damaging or misbehaviour.
    8. Non-Payment of school fee and conveyance fee.
    9. Required documents are not submitted on time.
    10. Parents and relatives misbehaviour with staff members, teachers and school management.
    11. Conviction by court of law for any criminal offence.
    12. There are other reasons which are in the opinion of school authorities render his / her continuance in the school undesirable.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

  • Absence from the school for 1 or 2 days should be written on the specific page of the school diary “Non Attendance & Leave Record” signed by the parents.
  • If student is absent due to any reason for more than three days, the Principal of he school must be informed in written by the parents.
  • A student returning to school after suffering from any infectious or contagious disease should produce his / her a doctor’s medical certificate of fitness.
  • Repeated absence without leave note or unexplained absence for more than seven consecutive days renders the students liable to have his / her name struck off the rolls.
  • The number of leaves taken by a student in a year should not exceed 15 days. Violation of this rule will be seriously dealt with.
  • All are expected to attend school on the re-opening day after vacation. Absence without previous leave note immediately after vacation renders the students liable to dismissal or a fine.
  • It is compulsory for all students to attend school on the days of National Celebration, like August 15th & January 26th.
  • Below 75% attendance are not permitted to sit in exam.

LATE ARRIVAL

  • All late arrivals (After second bell) will have to be accompanied by the parents.
